If you’ve ever wondered what a High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) event — also known as a track day — is all about, you’re not alone! An HPDE gives you the chance to safely explore the limits of your car on a closed-course racetrack under the guidance of an experienced, in-car instructor. It’s the perfect opportunity to improve your driving skills, build confidence, and experience your car in a way that public roads can’t offer. Your instructor is there to coach you — never to push you beyond your comfort zone. Between on-track sessions, you’ll participate in classroom discussions that cover topics such as: Understanding the racing line Cornering techniques for better control and speed Common driving mistakes and how to avoid them Above all, safety principles that apply both on and off the track Drivers are grouped by skill level, ensuring you share the track with others of similar experience. Because HPDE is about education, not competition, there are no lap times, leaderboards, or trophies. The goal is simple: to learn the fastest, safest way around the track — and have a great time doing it. And no — you don’t have to own a BMW to join us (though many of us think it’s the ultimate choice!). What to Expect at an HPDE Event

Your HPDE experience is designed to balance learning, driving, and fun throughout the day.

Each participant’s schedule includes on-track driving sessionswith an instructor, classroom discussions, and free timefor rest or observation.
You’ll be paired with a dedicated instructor carefully matched to your skill level and learning goals.
Drivers are placed into run groups according to their experience, skill level, and prior evaluations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Classroom & On-Track Experience

In the classroom, you’ll dive into the theory behind high-performance driving. Topics range from tire dynamics— like why low-profile tires improve handling — to cornering techniques including the difference between an early and late apex. You’ll also explore **vehicle physics**, such as what happens when you brake, accelerate, or experience understeer and oversteer. Each session includes time for **questions and discussion** to help you connect theory with real-world driving.

While you’ll be on track with 20+ other drivers of similar experience, this is not a race. All passing is done safely, using coordinated hand signals, and aggressive driving is not permitted.

Safety is the top priority.Driver behavior is closely monitored throughout the day by staff, instructors, and corner workers to ensure a controlled, educational, and enjoyable environment. Every participant is expected to know and follow the event Procedures and Rules at all times.
