ALS Fund Raiser at Humpa
On Sunday, September 23, 2007, BMW CCA CVC hosted its annual Humpa picnic. At the picnic this year, the car club added a fund raising campaign for a new club charity, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Through the extreme generosity and love of the club members, over $1,500 was raised for this charity.
When ALS touched our lives, we became acutely aware of the needs of patients and families living with ALS. In addition, we see the need for research to identify the causes and to develop effective treatments for this disease. We have met many patients currently living with ALS, and families of those who have lost their battle with the disease. We are amazed at the strength and determination of these people to extend the life and the quality of life for those afflicted and to help develop a cure.
We wish to extend our eternal gratitude to the BMW CCA CVC for making a commitment to ALS charities and to each and every person who made a contribution to the cause. You have touched our lives in a very meaningful way. Thank you.
