5th Annual Show & Shine Follow Up
By: Willy Wiley
It was another hot Sunday in July when this annual event was held at Wickham Park in Manchester. While it was hot it didn’t stop 60 or so BMW owners and their guests from coming out for the show and picnic.
People started showing up around 9:30 to get some of the lawn spots with shade. Others, who arrived later, wound up parking in second row in the sun. Either way it was another nice display of BMWs.
There were plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages to go around thanks to Mike Zarolinski and his company Bavarian Auto Check LLC. Thanks also to Mike’s mom for doing the cooking.
Following eating Mike started the trophy presentation with a new category for Furthest Distance Driven. The winner was Roger Benson who drove down from the Albany area to be at the event. Roger has Bavarian Autosport to thank for the gift certificate he won for his drive. Later Roger was awarded Best in Show for his 1972 2002.
There were two more trophies given out with Jim Hurczyn winning the one for Best 2 Door with his 1988 M3. The winner of the one for Best 4 Door was Andy Mair, another club member from NY, with his 1980 525i.
Besides Mike’s sponsorship thanks also should go to Roger Chartier and his Detail Best company as well as the chapter. If you missed this year’s event make sure to come out next year. Mike’s always hoping for a bigger turnout.
