Founded in 1969, the BMW CCA is now the largest single-marque car club in the world with 67 chapters and more than 70,000 members mutually enhancing each other’s BMW ownership experience.
The Connecticut Valley Chapter serves more than 2,200 members in Connecticut and western Massachusetts, as well as CCA members from all over the northeast who have joined our chapter.
A host of BMW-related activities and special events ranging from driving schools and tours to rallies, picnics, dinner parties and tech sessions are provided for our members and guests.
All CVC members are invited and encouraged to participate in Chapter operations, hence, the monthly business meetings are open to all members. They are held once each month, on a Friday (unless otherwise noted), and start with a light dinner at 7:00 p.m.
The location changes - depending on which Board member is the host that month. Please contact the host to let them know you will be attending and get directions. Knowing this ensures that we have enough food and drink for the dinner!
Chapter members receive our quarterly publication, Die Zeitung, or DZ, with articles about coming events and other information of interest to members and the opportunity to attend some great events and meet some fine folks.

“A bit of BMW Isetta fame!
I came across this 1987 Depeche Mode video featuring a ‘56 - ‘62 BMW Isetta 300. You can see the car being used from 1:01-3:00. Beautiful scenery and footage of the features of the Isetta.”

It is with sadness we deliver this message. Yesterday we received word that John Bisset passed away Monday night. John was in the BMW CCA from very early on and was one of the founding fathers of the Connecticut Valley Chapter. John has been on the Chapter’s board for near all of it’s 40+ years, and has held about every position from Member-at-Large all the way to President. At one point, in the lean early years, he and Marsh Wilson even loaned the Chapter money to keep it afloat.
John was proud to have been included among those members from the First 5000 who participated in the Oktoberfest Anniversary a few years ago. As we understand, he was also a 55-year member in the SCCA.
As most of you know, John has suffered from Alzheimer’s for several years and it has been a real struggle just to get through day-to-day living. Please keep Barbara, her sons and all their family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Click to contact Barbara or Jonathan, who has now taken over Performance Automotive from his parents.
With warm thoughts for John and the Bisset Family,
